Frequently asked questions
Under the 2019 labor reform and the Conciliation Centers, labor cases in San Luis Potosí typically take 8 to 18 months at first instance. Prior conciliation is mandatory and can resolve disputes within weeks when both parties are willing. Contested cases before the Labor Tribunal may extend 2 to 4 years including amparo.
Yes, and the deadlines are strict. The revocation appeal before the SAT must be filed within 30 business days of the notification taking effect. The administrative litigation before the TFJFA also has a 30-business-day window. Once these deadlines pass, ordinary remedies are closed — only a direct amparo remains, with more restrictive requirements. Do not wait.
The amparo (judicial review) protects any person against acts of authority that violate their constitutional rights. It can be used against unconstitutional laws, tax rulings, closures, arrests, sentences and any official act affecting fundamental rights. There are two types: indirect amparo (before a District Court) and direct amparo (before a Collegiate Tribunal). The general deadline is 15 business days.
